Batman is a Chicken?!

I love the Batman Chicken stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs. No one draws chicken's quite like Anna Wight! I thought he needed to see some ink before Halloween comes and goes this year so I stamped him a couple of times on Neenah white with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and got out my Copics. Here's Batman Chicken and sentiments from Anna's Spooky Expressions Cling set.

I'm happy to say that I actually put some Halloween cards in the mail this morning. I make cards all the time but I have a hard time actually getting them in the mail. I still have more that I need to mail so that will be the priority tonight along with putting out some more decorations.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Devil Max from Pink Gem Designs

Today I have a non-traditional Halloween card to share. The image is Devil Max from Pink Gem Designs and the papers are from the Amy Butler Funky Flowers collection. I decided to use some nice fall colored papers with the image instead of Halloween papers and I really like the end result. The card measures 5.5 inches square.

This past spring I purchased several stamps from Pink Gem Designs after stumbling onto owner Janet Roberts' blog. She and her fellow Design Team members have great blogs with lots of fun samples. The stamps are polymer so shipping from the UK is very reasonable even to the US.

I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:
  • Stamp - Devil Max from Pink Gem Designs
  • Paper - Neenah White, Kraft, Black, K&Co Amy Butler Funky Flowers
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Misc - Copics, Corner punch, Sewing machine, Jewels, Glossy accents (to adhere jewels)

'Lil Poppets from DigiStamp Boutique

Love the 'Lil Poppets characters from DigiStamp Boutique. They were designed after the children of fellow Design Team member Poppet (Paula Morfitt). I decided to use the "T.J - take that" image for today's card. The greeting was created on my computer.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful week!

No Scary Monsters Here

Are you ready for Halloween? I'm not but I do have some cards ready. Months ago I found an adorable set of Monsters from Recollections at Michael's and finally inked them up.

I think these smiling little monsters are more cute than scary but the Boo greeting was perfect for Halloween cards. I colored the monsters with Copics then cut them out to mount them to the cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful day.

Supplies:
  • Stamps- Recollections
  • Paper - Neenah White, Black, WeRMemoryKeepers Halloween Dexter

More Heart Prints

Today I have another card from Papertrey Ink's Heart Prints and Heart Prints Sentiments sets. I went with a Kraft base and a couple of layers or white cardstock with Antique Linen Distress Ink sponged on the edges. I also ran my tracing wheel around the edges of the top layer for some faux stitching. The hearts are stamped in Colorbox White pigment ink and the sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. For the finishing touch I added the ribbons and button.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great Monday!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Papertrey Ink Heart Prints and Heart Prints Sentiments
  • Paper - Papertrey Ink Kraft, Neenah White
  • Ink - Colorbox White Pigment, Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Antique Linen

Today I want to share a card using the Snow friends collection from DigiStamp Boutique. These cute little digital snowmen are available as a grouping or individually. I colored them with Copics and then added some Diamond Dust to resemble snow. You can see more samples of these adorable snow friends on the DigiStamp Boutique Blog.

Sneak Peak of Taste of Christmas

Have you started on your Christmas cards yet? Clear and Simple Stamps will be having another release on October 15th and one of the sets being released is Taste of Christmas. It has the most adorable cupcakes and a variety of items to top the cupcakes. I posted a card using the set yesterday and have a Christmas card to share today made with the set.

There are a few different cupcakes in the set but this one with what looks like lots of frosting is my favorite. I also think it calls for glitter. For a more festive cupcake I added a little sprig of holly from the stamp set to each one.

Check out the other Design Team members for more sneak peaks of sets releasing on the 15th. Thanks for stopping. I hope your week is off to a good start.

Card Positioning Systems Sketch Challenge

Clear and Simple Stamps is this week's sponsor for the Card Positioning System Challenge. Tami Mayberry came up with this wonderfully simple and versatile sketch. If you would like to play along please note that CSS stamps are not required in your creation. In order to play, visit the CPS blog and also be entered in a chance to win a fabulous prize from Clear and Simple Stamps.

I had so much fun with this sketch that I created two cards. For the first card I used one of the adorable cupcake stamps from the Taste of Christmas set from Clear and Simple Stamps that will release on October 15th. The cupcake was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on Neenah paper and colored with Copics. For the finishing touch the frosting was covered in stickles.

The second card uses a flower stamp from the Gratitide set and the Get Well Soon greeting from the Spring Sentiments set. I also added a Fragment with a gem in the center for a little splash of color.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Yesterday we woke up to a little snow on the ground but I'm hoping it will all melt by the end of the weekend.

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Gratitude, Spring Sentiments, Taste of Christmas (releases Oct 15)

  • Paper - Papertrey Kraft, SU Kiwi Kiss, Mauve Mist, Neenah, K&Co Wild Raspberry

  • Ink - SU Kiwi Kiss, Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Ink Antique Linen

I'm Batty

.  . . for this fun Haunted set by Cosmo Cricket. A couple of days ago I posted cards using the skeleton stamp and today I have cards with the bat from the set. I stamped the bat several times in black ink on some scraps of Kraft, added a little white gel pen to the eyes and fangs and cut them out. I used the same paper supplies as the skeleton cards but changed up the layouts.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Birthday Mom

It's my Mom's birthday today so I just wanted to quickly share the birthday card I made for her. She loves to sew and quilt so I thought the sewing bird from the Tweet set by Pink Cat Studio would be a good choice to use for her card. I paired it with papers from Basic Grey's Stella Ruby collection.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day!

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Tweet by Pink Cat Studios
  • Paper: Papertrey Kraft, Neenah White, Basic Grey Stella Ruby

Cosmo Cricket Halloween

I stopped at my local stamp store last night to look for some glitter and while I didn't find any glitter, I did find some Halloween stamps that made their way home with me. I spent the better part of the evening inking up the adorable Haunted set from Cosmo Cricket.

Here are a couple of the cards I made last night using the skeleton stamp from the Cosmo Cricket set. The greetings are from the Whipper Snapper Spooky Expressions set by Anna Wight (it happens to be Anna's birthday today . . . Happy Birthday Anna).

Take the Challenge: Let's Get Punchy

The first Tuesday of each month the Clear and Simple Stamps Design Team likes to post a challenge and this is one that everyone can join. For October the challenge is, "Let's Get Punchy". Pull out your punches and get creative with them for a Fall/Halloween creation.

For my card I decided to go with a Halloween card and to use a circle punch to create a row near the bottom of my card. The circles punched from black cardstock are mounted to the background paper and the orange polka dot circles are mounted to punches from an empty cereal box for some added heft and them mounted to the card with Pop dots for dimension. Below is a close-up showing the dimension.

Join us over at the Clear and Simple Stamps Group on PCP to play along in this month's Let's Get Punchy Challenge. Use the tag TTC10 when loading your projects so we can find them.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you're having a great day!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Bewitched
  • Paper - Kraft, Black, Making Memories Spook Alley and Marcella K Summer Travel
  • Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Vintage Photo (sponged on edges)
  • Misc - 1 3/8 circle punch, pop dots, recycled cereal box

Goth Fairy

A while back I purchased several stamps from Pink Gem Designs in the UK. The Goth Fairy stamp was one that I just had to have but has been sadly neglected since her big trip over the pond. I finally inked her up and made a card.

I used a variety of papers from the K&Company Wild Raspberry collection and added some stitching to some of the layers. The fairy was colored with Copics and glitter was added to her wings.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you've had a wonderful week. Please stop back tomorrow for some World Card Making Day fun!

  • Stamps - Pink Gem Designs Goth Fairy, Whipper Snapper (Anna Wight set Make a Wish)

  • Paper - Neenah, K&Co Wild Raspberry

Template of the Month: Clear and Simple Stamps

Ok, this is my second post for the day so make sure you scroll down and catch both posts.

Each month fellow Clear and Simple Stamps design team member Sue Berker designs a wonderful template to share. She's come up with yet another wonderful template for you this month.

TEMPLATE: Trick-or-Treat Basket

Here is my version of the Trick-or-Treat Basket. Insted of going with the traditional orange pumpkin/black face I thought I would try creating something with a more vintage feel to it. The flowers are some silk flowers that I bought from Michael's and pulled off the stem. The green twists are just thin strips of Kiwi Kiss paper wrapped around the metal ends of my embossing tool. I added an extra strip of kraft cardstock around the top of my basket just to blend with the kraft handle. I was afraid that the contents of the basket would spill out the sides so I made a liner for my basket by cutting a piece of transparency, putting a strip of scor-tape down one end and rolling it into a tube. The candy corn was them poured inside the tube.

The basket is made with SU Tangerine Tango cardstock that has been rubbed with a variety of ink pads to create a weathered look.

I decided the basket really need a tag so I stamped a message from the Live Life set and tied it to the handle with some twine.

Please be sure to visit each of the Design Team members blogs (links on the right) for their samples of the Trick-or-Treat basket. Don't forget to join us and upload your basket to our group on PaperCraft Planet.

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Live Life from Clear & Simple Stamps
  • Paper: SU Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Papertrey Kraft
  • Ink: Palette New Canvas, Distress Ink Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, Memento Desert Sand
  • Misc: Silk flowers, Twine, Eyelet, Crop-o-dile, Corner Chomper, Transparency Sheet, Scor-pal tape, Candy Corn
