Good Times

Have you heard of the new stamp company Mama Elephant? Today's card features one of the great sentiments from the Good Times set by Mama Elephant. I paired it with papers from October Afternoon and some star die cuts. The Good Times stamp set has many fun sentiments so I'm sure it's a stamp set that I'll turn to again and again.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a terrific Tuesday. Happy Stamping!

SPARKS Challenge

Today I have a card for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge. The challenge was to make a card with a camera or a polaroid as the focus.

For more details on the challenge check out the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog.

I used two Classic Rectangle Spellbinder dies to create a polaroid frame and then stamped the sentiment by combining "Belated Birthday Wishes" from Word Salad and "Fishes" from Birthday Buddies. I masked off the "Wishes" from the Word Salad stamp so I could use the "Fishes" stamp from Birthday Buddies. The two fish from Birthday Buddies were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics and fussy cut. I mounted them to the polaroid frame with foam dimensionals and added a green gem to the top of each hat. The wave paper in the background of the frame is from the Citronella pack from K&Company and the card base is from AMuse Studios.

We're having a very snowy Sunday here so it's a great day for stamping. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Simple Stories Happy Day Challenge

Please get comfy because today I have several cards to share with you and when you're done checking them out, I'm going to direct you over to Kim's blog. Kim and I got to know each other a few years back when we were on a design team together and I'm so glad that we have continued the friendship. Anyway, we were chatting the other evening and decided it would be fun to challenge each other to use the Happy Day papers from Simple Stories since we both happen to have that collection of papers.

So, I got to work and starting making cards. I have 5 cards to share with you today using the Happy Day 6x6 from Simple Stories. I paired it with some Stampin Up textured card stock that I had in my stash. It's the assorted pack of In-Colors from 2008, I think. It has Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red.

This card uses a sentiment from Paper Smooches and the ice cream cone die from Papertrey Ink.

This card uses a couple of dies and stamp sets from Papertrey Ink.

Another card very similar to the last. I added a Zva Creative red rhinestone to the cherry on the cone for a little sparkle.

This one uses the sentiment flag die from Lil Inker Designs.

I also used the sentiment flag die to add the blue and orange mini banner pieces. I just trimmed the ends off of the die cut pieces. To create the mini triangle banner pieces I used the Papertrey Ink Banner Builder (A) piece and trimmed it. I mounted the pieces with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

Now be sure to stop by Kim's blog (Basement Stamper) to see the great cards she made with the same collection of paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

October Afternoon Challenge

I'm excited to share a little friendly challenge today between myself and HB (fellow Minnesota blogger/cardmaker). Last month, I was fortunate enough to attend the October Afternoon Warehouse sale and while standing in line waiting to get in I happened to see HB from Happiness Blooms. We attended a Copic Certification class together a couple of years ago at ScrapFest and so it was really great to see her. While we were chatting we decided a friendly challenge to push us to use our newly acquired supplies might be fun. So today's challenge was to use the October Afternoon Cakewalk collection.

I enjoyed using the Cakewalk papers so much that I ended up making a couple of cards for the challenge. For my first project, I went with a tag card. I made one for my daughter's birthday several years ago and I thought it would be fun to try making another.

The tag is cut 4 1/2 x 10", scored every 2 1/2", the corners clipped off and accordian folded. I used a variety of papers from the 8x8 Cakewalk collection and a 12x12 piece of Hula Hoop to create the base. The sentiments are from Paper Smooches Hullabaloo set.

I love the little critters on the Kazoo papers. I just cut them out and mounted them on the card with foam dimensionals.

For the next card I used the Paper Smooches Hullabaloo set again. I stamped the cupcake image with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copics to match the background papers.

Finally I made this quick card by cutting out a variety of circles and another of the images from the Kazoo paper.

I hope you've enjoyed my projects and our little challenge. I can't wait to see what HB made. Don't forget to check out her blog Happiness Blooms.

Paper Smooches

Today I have a couple of cards featuring stamps from Paper Smooches. I ordered several sets from i {heart} papers and couldn't wait to ink them up when they arrived.

The first card uses the Hullabaloo stamp set from Paper Smooches and papers from Crate Paper's 6x6 Pretty Paper collection

The next card uses the Swanky Snowdudes set and papers from October Afternoon. I also used a cuttlebug snowflake die for a little added embellishment.

Finally another card using the Swanky Snowdudes set. I created the sentiment by combining the Swanky Snowdudes and Good Gab sets. The papers on this card are from Recollections Naughty or Nice collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Mini Giftbags

Today I have some mini giftbags to share with you. I used a variety of papers from the Holiday Style 8x8 pad from October Afternoon and the Party Favor #1 die from Clear and Simple Stamps.

I die cut the bags and then I used Spellbinders scallop circle and Nestabilities Label Four dies to create the sentiment piece. The sentiment and holly stamps are from my stash of old retired stamps (Memory Box, Comotion, Double D).

I really love this die. It creates a holder the perfect size for a gift card and a small chocolate treat.

And I think these papers are so fun for this project. I like the vintage style of the prints.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

How I Used an Entire 6x6 Pad of Paper

During a recent visit to Michael's I found a 6x6 pad of paper from American Crafts and over the weekend, I managed to use the entire pad. I made over 30 cards from the pad.

Here's a photo of the pad. 24 sheets of 6x6 papers.

This is just some of the cards I was able to make from the papers.

I was inspired by a layout that Michelle Wooderson used in a recent post of her blog Mish Mash

I started by cutting all my papers into 4x6 pieces and then cut the 4x6 pieces into
4x4, 4x3/4 and 4x1 1/4. I attached the 3/4 inch strip to the top of the 4x4 panels with the addition of a piece of paper doily. Then attached the 4x4 panel and a 4 1/4 strip to each card base. I was able to create 24 cards using this layout.

I added stamped die cuts and buttons and twine to finish the cards.

The die cuts and co-ordinating stamps are from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment used in the card about is from Hero Arts.

All that was left from the pad of paper were 6x2 inch strips so I cut them into 2x2 pieces and made more cards using this layout.

I'm so glad that I actually used this pad of paper instead of just adding it to my stash. And if you have a stash of paper maybe you will be inspired to use some of those pads in your stash. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Here's the sketch.

And here is my card for the challenge.

It's been awhile . . .

Did you give up on me yet? I'm still making cards but obviously I'm not posting them on my blog. Well, I needed a baby card for a co-worker who had a healthy baby boy on Monday so I decided it was a good time to start posting again in case anyone was still visiting my blog.

My card uses some My Mind's Eye - Stella and Rose - Hattie 6x6 papers. I used the My Favorite Things Polka Dot Greetings stamp set and matching die to mount my little onesies on. The onesie stamp is from the Bit of Stardust set from There She Goes. I finished it off with some ribbon and a star shaped button.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fabulous Fall. Happy Stamping!

Are you ready for Father's Day?

Have you made your Father's Day cards yet? Here is the card that I made for my Dad.

The card base is kraft with designer papers from the 7 gypsies Maison Variety Pack. The fish stamp is from Eureka Stamps but I looked on the website and I don't see it so it may not be available any longer. The Dad stamp on the front is from Clear and Simple Stamps Hero Dad set.

I even stamped on the inside of the card. I used A Muse Studio Slate ink to stamp the fish image on the inside of the card and then I added the father's day sentiment from A Muse Studio's Essential Sentiments set. I'm entering this card in the Masculine Card Blog Challenge for CutCardStock.com.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you're having a terrific Tuesday. Happy Stamping!
