You're not old . You're ripe.

When I saw this saying I knew the bananas from GinaK's You know you're old when . . . set would be perfect. I stamped the bananas with Palette Hybrid Black and colored them with Copics.

I'm really enjoying my label maker for creating sentiments! I find it much easier than pulling out alphabet sets to create them. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you're having a great day.

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Gina K You Know You're Old When
  • Papers: White, Black, Marigold Morning, My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow
  • Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir
  • Accessories: Copics, Nestabilities, Dymo Label Maker, Popdots

Got Snow?

We did yesterday (0.2 inches officially). Thankfully it melted as it hit the ground. In honor of our first snowfall of the year here's a card using the GinaK set "Got Snow."

The card base is red from Paper Source, the patterned paper is from Basic Grey, the blue mat is SU Buckaroo Blue, the image is stamped with Palette Hybrid Black on SU Very Vanilla and colored with Copics. I also added some Stickles as snow on the image. The edges are sponged with some Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, I believe). The green on the tag is a scrap from my table. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Memory Box.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy National Card Making Day!

I am out of town today on a business related trip but I thought I would schedule a post in honor of National Card Making Day!

I finally pulled out my Gina K Way to Go set and made some cards. This set just makes me laugh when I look at it but it's taken me a long time to ink it up. Here's what I came up with when I finally took the plunge.

All of the commodes were stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir ink on white cardstock then colored with Copic markers and cut out. The patterned papers are from a variety of sources but mostly Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye.

For the bottom two cards I also stamped the brushes, colored them with copics, cut them out and then mounted them with pop dots for some dimension.

I hope you're having a wonderful day and find some time for stamping.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Little Baby

Just a simple baby card using the How Sweet it is! set from Gina K Designs. I used SU Very Vanilla for the card base and the image. I added a zigzag stitch to the patterned piece for some added detail and colored the image with my copics.

I hope you're having a great week! Thanks for stopping by.

You Know You're Old When . . .

I love this set from Gina K Designs but really haven't taken the time to use it so I pulled it out this morning before work and put this card together.

I used SU certainly celery for the base with a mat of wild wasabi and groovy guava. I stamped the words on the whisper white piece with palette hybrid noir and then I stamped the little man on another piece of whisper white and cut him out leaving the hat extending past the circle and matted him on wild wasabi. I colored him with prismacolor pencils and OMS and mounted him to the card with popdots. Side Note: I just noticed that I forgot to color the gift he's holding so I'll have to finish it before I use it. Oops! Is that a sign of age? Forgetful?!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Gina K You Know You're Old When from the Tickle your funny bone series
  • Papers: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava all from Stampin Up
  • Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir
  • Accessories: Prismacolor pencils, OMS, Fiskars Circle Cutter, Popdots
I hope you're all having a wonderful week. I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Potty

I was playing with my Gina K Designs stamps and thought the little man from the You Know You're Old When . . . set would pair up nicely with the potty from the Way to go! set for a birthday party invitation. I stamped the man in palette hybrid black then masked him to stamp the potty. The images were colored with Copics then mounted on a black mat and a purple mat. Purple Bazzill brads were added to the corners. The sentiment was made using Karen Foster snap stamps. Then punched out with the fiskars squeeze oval punch and matted with black. These were layered onto a star burst chipboard piece that I inked with purple chalk ink. The black strip across the bottom of the card was paper pierced and faux stitched using a white gel pen. As always, thanks for stopping. Have a great day!

More Gina K Designs Cards

I'm really enjoying my new Gina K Designs stamps. They are such fun to color! Here are a couple of simple cards using the vase of flowers from the "How Sweet it is!" set. The patterned papers are from Mind's Minds Eye Wild Asparagus collection. On the first card I added some square brads and on the second I used some eyelets.
The images were stamped in Palette Hybrid black and colored with copics. The green is SU wild wasabi and the card bases are white.

We've had above average temps here the last couple of days and it really makes it hard to go to work. On Wednesday when I got in my car to go home from work the thermometer on my car read 48 degrees! We haven't seen temps like that since early November. It was nice again yesterday which just made me want to stay home and take the dogs for a long leisurely walk. Hopefully the weather will stay nice all weekend so I can get outside and enjoy it. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a great day!

Home via Gina K's Store

Sorry for the break in posts again. I had to go to Chicago for a funeral so I wasn't online for a few days. Then once I got back I had to try and get caught up so the blog postings suffered. I ended up driving to Chicago for the service so on the way home I made a little detour and stopped at Gina K's store and meet her in person. What a sweetie! And I just love her store (Gina K Design's). It would be great to be able to spend a day there stamping away.

One of the sets I bought while I was in the store was her latest "stamps for a cause" set How Sweet it is! It's perfect for so many occasions and $7.00 of every set sold is divided evenly between The American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

When I returned home my new scor-pal was waiting for me so I had to make some gate fold cards with my new scor-pal and Gina K stamps! Here are the first couple of cards I made with the set.
I stamped the sundae with timber brown stazon and colored it with my copics. I used my nestabilities for the "how sweet" tag and some May Arts ribbon. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus collection.

Here's another view using a paperclip to hold the card closed.

This card uses the same supplies except instead of any embellishments I just sewed around the brown mat.

I'm sure this set with get a lot of use. As always, thanks for stopping!
