Merry Christmas Eve!

I have a couple more Christmas cards to share with you today. I made this one using the Home set from Artistic Outpost. The image is stamped in Fired Brick and the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo. For the greeting I used Walnut Stain. I tried to make the barn look like it was covered in a blanket of snow by adding some Diamond Dust. For the finishing touch I wrapped some Ecru floss around the card and added a button and some punched branches.

The second card is a 4 1/4 inch square card with no dimensionals because I wanted to make something that would go through the mail easily and not cost extra postage. I will just use a regular invitation size envelope.

I'm glad that I did my grocery shopping last night before the blizzard hit. We don't have too much snow on the ground yet but they're forecasting snow all day today and 6-8 more inches tomorrow with really high winds so at least I don't have to worry about getting to the store.

Serenity

I was looking at the Hero Arts Blog the other day was inspired to pull out my distress inks and make some background papers. I love the Serenity stamp from Artistic Outpost paired with this type of background.

I layed Ranger Distress inks (shabby shutters, old paper, vintage photo) on my craft sheet, spritzed them with water and dragged the paper through the ink to create the background. More details on the technique are available on this post. After I inked the serenity stamp with Walnut Stain Distress Ink I ran my brayer over it to even out the ink before stamping the image.

Butterfly Anniversary

I thought I would try my hand at stamping on a transparency. I used my Lettuce Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber to ink my stamp and stamped it on the transparency. Once it had dried I edged the butterfly panel with my pinking shears and sewed it to a piece of kraft cardstock. The Happy Anniversary stamp is part of a Studio G $1 set. The butterfly is from the Happiness set from Artistic Outpost. The patterned paper is made using my scorpal and the technique I showed in this post.

The hardest part of the card was trying to get a photo of it with the transparency on there.

Summer Afternoon

I love the new Keeper set from Artistic Outpost! It just reminds me of all those lazy days spent at the cabin. For this card I stamped the image with Vintage Photo Distress Ink then distressed the edges with my Heidi Swapp distressing tool and sponged the edges with more Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye (I think) and the brown is a scrap from my LSS. I used a SU slip punch to create the scallop border and then punched each scallop with my mini circle punch. I cut the heart from felt and added some ribbon, a prima flower and a dew drop.

Serenity

I love this stamp! It's from the Serenity set by Artistic Outpost. I used the distress ink technique that I showed on this post to make the background and then stamped the image with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The card base is SU marigold morning with Tea Dye Distress Ink sponged on the edges. The layer is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp inked in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then also sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I added the white gel pen to the house to make it stand out a little. Then I painted a grungeboard swirl with a peeled paint dabber and added a prima flower and dew drop for the finishing touches.
