Snappy Birthday Wishes

I decided to try making a gatefold card that folded with a landscape layout instead of a portrait layout. The crab was stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir ink on white then colored with Copics. The claw on the left, the package and the party hat were stamped, colored, cut out and then mounted with pop dots. For the greeting I used the snappy portion of the greeting from the set and then added the birthday wishes sentiment from the Papertrey Ink faux ribbon set. The striped paper is from Making Memories and the card base is Kraft. The green and orange mats are coordinations cardstock.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - SU Crab & Company, Papertrey Ink Faux Ribbon
  • Ink - Palette Hybrid Noir
  • Paper - SU Kraft, Black, Making Memories, Coordinations
  • Other - Copics, Punches, Scor-pal, Pop dots
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my latest creation! I hope you're having a great week!

Happy National Card Making Day!

I am out of town today on a business related trip but I thought I would schedule a post in honor of National Card Making Day!

I finally pulled out my Gina K Way to Go set and made some cards. This set just makes me laugh when I look at it but it's taken me a long time to ink it up. Here's what I came up with when I finally took the plunge.

All of the commodes were stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir ink on white cardstock then colored with Copic markers and cut out. The patterned papers are from a variety of sources but mostly Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye.

For the bottom two cards I also stamped the brushes, colored them with copics, cut them out and then mounted them with pop dots for some dimension.

I hope you're having a wonderful day and find some time for stamping.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Basic Grey Dinos

I love the Basic Grey Dino stamp set and Archaic papers. Here are a couple of the cards I have made with them.
For this first card I used Kraft cardstock for my base, orange cardstock from Coordinations, a couple of the papers from the Archaic line and some scraps for the bone tag.

For the bone tag I punched out two sizes of circles with my punches and then used my small oval punch to create the tab. I inked all of the edges with some distress ink and then inked up the bone stamp with white acrylic paint and stamped it on the tag. I added an orange brad and some twine to finish the tag them mounted it to the card with pop dots. The dino was stamped in staz-on timber brown, cut out and mounted with pop dots.

For the second card I stamped the dino with green on vanilla and then used a mask to sponge some distress ink on the bottom of the panel to look like ground. I stamped the greeting on some of the Archaic papers, cut them out and mounted them on the card. For piercing around the circle of Archaic paper I used a plastic canvas circle as my guide. For the lines in the green strip, I used my scor-pal.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fabulous day!

Blog Award

During my absence last month I was sent a blog award from my friend Lynette (My Stamping Addiction). We met last spring while working the Rubbernecker booth at a local Stamp Expo and I'm so glad we did. Not only does she create fabulous cards but she's also a joy to be around. I wished we lived closer to each other.

Thank you so much Lynette for the wonderful recognition.

Thanks for the BRAK!

Just a quick post to share a couple of the BRAK's (Birthday Random Act of Kindness) I received last month.

Vicki (luvs2stamp2) sent me this adorable card.

Carole (Pink12) sent me this darling card.

Thank you so much ladies! I love them.

Where did September go?!

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. The month of September is a blur!

Here's a brief re-cap of my September:
  • The family spent labor day weekend at the cabin and closed it up for the season.
  • My daughter started her senior year in High School.
  • I participated each Wednesday in a farmer's market/crafter fair.
  • I turned 40.
  • My daughter turned 18.
What a month. Sorry that the blogging was neglected but something had to give. October should be a little calmer around here so I'm planning to be better with the blog updates.

I'll be back to post some of the BRAK's that I received. I hope some of my readers are still with me.
