Whipper Wednesday

For today's post I'd like to share another card using Anna Wight's newest Whipper Snapper set Wildflower Silhouette. This is such a fun set to work with and I thought it would work well with the yellow and grey color scheme I've been seeing everywhere lately.

I used the Label 1 Nestabilities set to create a frame around the floral image that I stamped with SU Basic Grey ink on white cardstock. The frame was mounted with pop dots to give the card some dimension. I also stamped one of the butterflies from the set twice in yellow and cut out the entire first one and just the top wings on the second and attached them together for more dimension. Some yellow stickles were added to the flower centers and to the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Whipper Snapper Wildflower Silhouette
  • Ink - SU Basic Grey, Barely Banana
  • Paper - SU Black, White, Banana; BasicGrey designer paper
  • Misc - Pop dots, Nestabilities, Scallop edge punch, Silver cord, Stickles

Game On

Today's post features another newly released set from Clear & Simple Stamps . . . GAME ON

For this card I thought it would be fun to stamp some Mii characters from the Game On set. First I made the card base with SU Elegant Eggplant. Next I cut a strip of Cool Caribbean and used the same color ink with the background stamp that has all of the game names to cover that piece. Then I cut a strip of Tangerine Tango to mount my Mii characters on. I used circle punches and circle Nestabilities to create the layers. The Mii’s were colored with Copics. Finally I cut a thin strip off of the Cool Caribbean piece to add on the edge to create this layout.

Here is today's second card. Doesn’t this just make you want to turn on your Wii and challenge your family and friends to a game? I stamped the controllers on white cardstock with Palette Hybrid Black ink and colored them with Copics. I also colored the background with Copics and then used my Nestabilities to create the circle layers. The game on sentiment was punched out with the SU Word Window punch and mounted to the card with pop dots. The base of the card is SU Morning Marigold with a white layer and then some patterned papers that were unmarked.

Also, don't forget to sign up for the Clear & Simple Stamps ATC Swap Extravaganza. If you register for the swap and leave me a comment on this post with your email address I will send the first 10 people a little assortment of ribbons, buttons, and Primas. I hope you'll join us.

Whipper Snapper Friday

Sorry for no post yesterday but I wasn't feeling well so for today's post I'll share two cards using Anna Wight's newest Whipper Snapper set Wildflower Silhouette. For the first card I used a kraft base and inked the edges with Peeled Paint distress ink, then added a layer of Prima embossed paper. For the image I used the Label 1 Nestabilities set with more kraft cardstock and instead of using ink on the floral image I used the Lettuce Paint Dabber from Ranger. Once the paint dried I added some gemstones and a sentiment from one of Anna's previously releast sets - Blooming Expressions. These sets really pair well together. I inked the edges of the label and mounted it to the card with pop dots.

For my second card today I went with a much brighter color combo (SU Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red) with a little black thrown in there too. I created the patterned paper by repeatedly stamping the larger single flower stamp in the variety of colors. I love the versatility of this set.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Bun in the Oven Part 3

Today's project again features one of the new sets from Clear & Simple Stamps - Bun in the Oven. I thought it would be fun to alter a frame for a baby boy so I pulled out a frame that I had picked up some time ago and started by painting the edges of the frame white because it was originally a minty green. Next I got out some Karen Foster papers and cut them to fit the frame. I attached the paper to the frame with Modge Podge and then added a layer of modge podge to the top of the paper to seal the edges on the frame. Next I pulled out my Grungeboard to make some stars. The green star was painted using a Lettuce paint dabber by Ranger and for the red star I used Fired Brick distress crackle paint also by Ranger. I stamped IT'S A BOY with Warm Red Chalk ink on the tag and attached it using yellow hemp. After I had the frame done it thought it would be fun to make a little pack of chocolates with the IT'S A BOY stamp too so I made a little holder for the chocolates and decorated them to match the frame. The directions for these little candy holders can be found on Nichole Heady's blog {capture the moment}.

Be sure to check out the Clear & Simple Stamps gallery for more samples with the new sets. Also, don't forget about the ATC Swap Extravaganza. Details on the swap can be found here. Thanks for stopping. I hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Bun in the Oven Part 2

Sunday I posted a card using the new Bun in the Oven set from Clear & Simple Stamps and today I have another card for you with the same set but a much different look. I think the stove stamp in this set is just the cutest so I stamped in on white cardstock with Palette Hyrbid Black and colored it with Copics. Next I matted the image on SU Tangerine Tango and ran my tracing wheel around the edge for a faux piercing look. The card base is also Tangerine Tango and the patterned papers are from Chatterbox. For the sentiment I used the What's Cooking stamp from the Gourmet Darling set and cut it out using Nestabilities Long Scalloped Rectangles. For the finishing touch I added a couple of pieces of ribbon around the card.

The versatility of this set is great! I'll be back later with information on a Clear & Simple Stamps ATC Swap. I hope you'll join us!

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Bun in the Oven, Gourmet Darling
  • Ink - Palette Hybrid Black
  • Paper - SU Tangerine Tango, Cool Caribbean, White, Chatterbox
  • Misc - Copics, Pop dots, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Tracing Wheel

Whipper Snapper Release Day!

It's time for the release of Anna Wight's (SweetMissDaisy) new cling sets from Whipper Snapper Designs. The two sets releasing this month are Wildflower Silhouette and Signature Series.

For today's card I pulled out some K&Company papers to create a 4x4 card. The card base is SU Chocolate Chip with strips of the K&Company papers and a piece of velvet ribbon with a nice little buckle. For the image I stamped the bluebonnet (or lupine) with Old Paper Distress Ink on another piece of the K&Company paper and heat set it. Then I used my Chestnut Roan chalk ink to stamp the sentiment. The image was cut out using the long rectangle Nestabilities and mounted with pop dots.

Clear & Simple Stamps - Bun in the Oven

Guess what . . . We’re expecting and it’s a girl!Ok, not really but wouldn’t this be a great way to share your news with family and friends?!

The new Bun in the Oven set from Clear & Simple Stamps is so fun. I stamped four buns on some BasicGrey paper with Palette Hybrid Black and punched them out. Next I curved the Bun in the Oven sentiment on my acrylic block and stamped it at the bottom of each circle. That’s one of the things I love about Clear and Simple stamps is that you can bend the sentiments giving you even more options in your designs. I colored the buns with Copics and added some Liquid Pearls for the icing. The card base is SU Pink Pirouette with a white layer and then some BasicGrey paper. The buns were mounted on a white layer and attached to the base. For the finished touch I wrapped some twine around the card a couple of times, tied a bow, added a button and the sentiments. The sentiments were punched out with the SU Word Window punch and mounted with pop dots.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Clear & Simple Stamps Bun in the Oven
  • Ink - Palette Hybrid Black
  • Paper - SU Pink Pirouette, White, BasicGrey
  • Misc - Copics, Liquid Pearls, Pop dots, Nestabilities Circles, SU Word Window Punch, Twine, Button

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day! We're planning to spend it painting our living room. Not the most romantic thing but that's ok as long as we're together.

This is the card I made for my DH. I stamped the heart swirl background with embossing ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next I inked the tag with Distress Inks (pink lipstick, fired brick and vintage photo around the edges). The hearts are cut out of grungeboard and painted with fired brick crackle paint. The I LOVE YOU sentiment is from a Studio G set and just stamped repeatedly on a strip of paper inked with more pink lipstick Distress Ink. I attached the tag to a Kraft card base, used my cropodile to punch a hole in the top and added a May Arts ribbon to finish the card.

Whipper Snapper Belated Birthday

When I saw the adorable snail in the Fish Friends Whipper Snapper set I knew I wanted to make a belated birthday card using the snail. I thought if the cute little snail delivered the birthday greetings they might arrive late so on the inside I added the words "a little late".

Studio G Owl

I had a 50% off coupon for Michael's that I needed to use before it expired and I had my eye on Prima's "The First Blush" paper pack so I ran to Michael's last night. While browsing the store I found this cute Studio G Owl stamp in the $1 bin and had to add it to my basket. The Prima paper pack was on sale so I ended up giving my coupon to the gal in line behind me. She was thrilled.

When I got home I pulled out my Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink, some Choc Chip cardstock, a variety of papers and made some cards with my new owl stamp. I kept the same layout for all of the cards and just changed up the designer papers.

For the first card I used papers from BasicGrey's Urban Prairie collection. Next I pulled out Cosmo Cricket's My Campy line of papers and finally cut in to them. I also used the Pocket full of Posies line from DCWV and my new Prima The First Blush collection of papers. The edges of the papers were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and white gel pen was used for the wing and nose detail on the owls.

I think I'll get a lot of use from this cute little owl.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Studio G
  • Ink - Colorbox Chalk Chestnut Roan, Distress Ink Vintage Photo
  • Paper - Choc Chip, BasicGrey, Cosmo Cricket, DCWV, Prima
  • Misc - White gel pen, Ribbon, Buttons

I sponged the edges with Vintage photo Distress ink and then used my Nestabilities Label 1 set for the matting.
