Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #26

I stumbled upon the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge for this week and was inspired to make a card after seeing the beautiful orange mum cupcakes. YUM!

For my card I stamped one of the flower stamps from the In Bloom set from Clear & Simple Stamps using Memento Desert Sand ink on Neenah Solar White. The image was then colored with Copics and cut out using Nestabilities. The bottom sea foam colored layer was embossed with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder and some ribbon and lace were added to the panel.

Thanks so much for stopping. Happy Stamping!

Baby Shower Card

I had a baby shower to attend on Saturday morning so when I woke up on Saturday I headed straight to my craft room to get to work. I love Anna Wight's Bundle of Joy set from Whipper Snapper so I decided on a cow card since the baby is a little girl.

I stamped the cow with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Neenah paper and colored it with Copics. For the layout, I went with an old stand-by using a Kraft base and a layer of white with some unmarked pink polka dot paper and a strip of Chatterbox paper. For the finishing touches I added the sentiment flag with a bow and button.

Thanks so much for stopping. Happy Stamping!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Whipper Snapper Bundle of Joy (Anna Wight cling set)
  • Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Paper - Neenah White, Papertrey Kraft, Polka dot (unmarked), Chatterbox
  • Misc - Ribbon, Button, Corner Chomper, Pop dots

Witches Brew

I wanted to create an altered project with the Bewitched set from Clear and Simple Stamps but I was having a hard time coming up with a great idea. I talked to Nicki (one of the owners) and she suggested using the witches brew sentiment and tea bags. Genuis!

I pulled out some tea bags, took some measurements and made little covers to wrap around them.

I used my circle punch to create a little notch in the wrapper so the tea bag would slide in nicely.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you've had a wonderful week! Happy Stamping.

Sweet Token of Appreciation

As a small token of appreciation for allowing me to be part of their team, I made this card for Reenee and Nicki from Clear and Simple Stamps. These great stamps are from the Sweet Tooth set and I thought they were very fitting for this occasion.

The gumball machine is stamped on Neenah with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, colored with Copics, cut out and then the glass portion of the gumball machine is covered in Glossy Accents. Once the glossy accents dried the gumball machine was mounted with pop dots to a nestabilities circle. The card base is white with a couple of layers of Marcella K Summer Travel papers matted with SU Cool Caribbean. For the finishing touch I added a bow and button and stamped the verse with Memonto Rich Cocoa.

Thanks again for a great couple of days in Minneapolis!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Sweet Tooth from Clear and Simple Stamps
  • Inks - Memento Rich Cocoa
  • Paper - Georgia Pacific White, Neenah White, SU Cool Caribbean, Marcella K Summer Travel
  • Misc - Copics, Nestabilities circle, Ribbon, Button, Pop dots

Copic Certification and Scrapfest

Wow, what a great couple of days! I have the joy of working with Clear and Simple Stamps as part of their design team and on Thursday I had the even greater joy of meeting the owners (Reenee and Nicki) in person. They are two of the nicest ladies you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. We attended the Copic Certification class in Minneapolis on Thursday and Friday we chatted for a couple of hours over breakfast and then headed to Scrapfest over at the Mall of America. It was so much fun to be able to meet them in person and I look forward to our next chance to visit.

I've put a spell on you

Have you checked out the newly released Bewitched set from Clear and Simple Stamps? Well how about a couple samples with this sassy set.

For this card I started with a shipping tag and sponged the tag with Dried Marigold Distress Ink then stamped the words in Spiced Marmalade to create the background.

Next I sewed the burgundy and black tag layers together then flipped it over and removed the middle portion of the black layer (just inside the stitching). Next I made a cut in the center of the burgundy layer and sprayed that layer with water so I could tear it and roll it back. Once the burgundy layer was dry I layered it over the shipping tag exposing just the center of the shipping tag throught the torn burgundy layer. All of the layers were mounted on a card base of Always Artichoke.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Bewitched from Clear and Simple Stamps
  • Ink - Archival jet black, Distress Inks Dried marigold and Spiced maralade
  • Paper - SU Black, Always Artichoke, White, Burgundy (unknown vendor)
  • Misc - Shipping tag, Sewing machine, Button, White gel pen (dots on button), Ribbon, Pop dots
Here's just a very simple card using Papertrey Kraft for it's base and a layer of Polka Dot Parade also from Papertrey. I tied some purple grosgrain ribbon around the card and added the circle with the cute little witch mounted on it. The words and witch were stamped with SU Elegant Eggplant.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Bewitched from Clear and Simple Stamps
  • Ink - SU Elegant Eggplant
  • Paper -Papertrey Ink Kraft and Polka dot Parade, White
  • Misc -Ribbon, Pop dots

Now on a more personal note I just wanted to share this adorable banner that the folks at Clear and Simple Stamps posted for me. I have the honor of meeting them in person tomorrow when we attend the Copic Certification Class in Minneapolis. What a great way to celebrate my birthday!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a great day! Happy Stamping.

Sneak Peak: Bewitched

Clear and Simple Stamps is releasing a great set called Bewitched on September 15. It's perfect for all your Halloween projects. Here's one of the cards I made using the set.
I stamped the witched on white cardstock with Archival Jet black ink and cut her out. Then mounted her on a couple of layers of circles. The white dots on the black circle were added using a white gel pen. Same as the white dots on the scalloped border and orange strips. The sentiment was stamped in white craft ink and embossed.

Stop back tomorrow for the Playtime Collection release.

Q: Can you make a globe card?

A: Um . . . sure.

I had a request last week for a birthday card with a globe on it. I printed out a globe image that I found online and used my stylus to transfer the outline of the land mass to green cardstock then cut it out. I used my craft knife to cut out the Great Lakes because the birthday gal is located on the southwestern tip of Lake Superior. Before mounting the land mass on a circle of blue that was cut out using the largest Nestabilities circle I sponged the edges of the circle with ink to try and add some dimension. The little flag was attached to a pin and inserted in the globe to show the location of the birthday gal.

I was a little worried about trying to create a globe card but I really like how it turned out. Plus it's fun to challenge yourself and try new things.

Robot Parts

While blog hopping the other day I found the tutorial for this animal cracker box from Tracy Harp and thought is would work great for Clear and Simple Stamps Stamp of the Month: Get in Gear. The tutorial can be found here on her blog Inky Doodles.

I used Stampin Up's True Thyme for my box base and then covered it with a double sided paper from Chatter Box. The robots were stamped on white cardstock with Palette Hybrid ink, colored with Copics, cut out and mounted to the box with Pop dots.

I thought the perfect filler for my box would be a Lego Bionicle. Who wouldn't love to open this box and discover it filled with Lego robot parts.

Take the Challenge: Cover It

Can you believe Summer is over? Well, September means back to school and what a fun time for a back to school Take the Challenge. Do you remember having to "cover" your textbooks? Do the kids still do that? Nowadays they have really cool covers, not the plain brown paper bags from when we were growing up.

This month's challenge is to "Cover It". Your challenge is to cover some sort of "notebook/pad". You can go with the rage and create a post-it note holder, take a mini compo book and make a sweet cover, or even a calendar for all those back to school events to remember.

For my project I covered a Jr Writing pad (5x8) with chipboard. The chipboard piece was cut to 10 3/4 x 8 1/4 and scored at 5 1/4 and 5 1/2. I covered the top of the pad with a strip of Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper and attached it to the chipboard with Scor-Tape. For the front of the cover I used a variety of Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers and the A+ Darling set from Clear and Simple Stamps.

Join us over at the Clear and Simple Stamps Group on PCP to play along in this month's Cover It Challenge

Use the tag TTC09 when loading your projects.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
