Sneak Peak: Clear & Simple Stamps

If you haven't already entered the blog candy be sure to see this post for the chance to win a Glamour Darling set from Clear & Simple Stamps. It ends at midnight on Sunday, March 8th.

Now how about a sneak peak of Believe in Words II which will be released March 15th from Clear & Simple Stamps.

This project uses a Martha Stewart window box that I found at a local store and the Believe in Words II set from Clear & Simple Stamps. The box is just plain Kraft cardstock so I covered it in a variety of Basic Grey patterned papers. Next the bird was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress Ink, colored with Copics, cut out and mounted to the box with pop dots. I also stamped the kindness word stamp using only the script version of the word and added that to the ribbon closure. Wouldn’t this be cute filled with birdseed to give to your favorite bird lover.

Supplies:
  • Stamps – Clear & Simple Stamps Believe in Words II
  • Ink – Walnut Stain Distress Ink
  • Paper - White, Basic Grey
  • Misc – Copics, Ribbon, Pop dots, Oval Coluzzle, Martha Stewart window box, Hole punch

Baby Cards

I had a request for a baby girl card so I pulled out some stamps and put together a couple of cards. For this first one I used a little Studio G stamp and paper pieced the baby carriage.

Next I used the giraffe stamp from Imaginisce. I stamped it in Palette hybrid ink and colored it with Copics then cut it out. I mounted it to a piece that I diecut using the Nestabilities Label 1 set. On the label I stamped the word Welcome from the retired SU fancy flexible phrases set. The patterned papers are from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl collection.

Thanks for stopping by. Please check back tomorrow 'cause I heard a rumor about some blog candy!

SOTM: Clear and Simple Stamps

The Stamp of the Month from Clear and Simple Stamps is Easter Basket. This is such a fun set to use. I love the little bunny stamp and the adorable set of decorated eggs and the basket full of eggs. They’re all so cute I had to ink them up and make some cards. For the egg card in the front of the photo I stamped a row of eggs. After stamping the eggs I used a white gel pen to add the accents on the eggs. For the basket card I also used the white gel pen to add polka pots to the guava eggs in the basket. For the chocolate bunny card I stamped the bunny with white pigment ink on chocolate cardstock, heat embossed it and then cut it out to mount on the card.

For this card I pulled out the adorable basket of eggs stamp and paired it with some of my favorite colors. The basket is stamped with Timber brown Stazon, colored with re-inkers, and matted with a nice rich purple. I stamped the Happy Easter right on the card and then added a strip of layers just above. Instead of pulling out my sewing machine for this card I just ran my tracing wheel across the pink pirouette strip for a faux stitch effect. For the finishing touch I added a trio of buttons.Clear and Simple Stamps next release will be on March 15. They have a lot of cute sets being released so keep checking back for sneak peaks and maybe even some blog candy.

Clear & Simple Stamps: Take the Challenge Tuesday

On the first Tuesday of every month, Clear & Simple Stamps will be having a challenge. This month's theme is shape cards--anything but a square or a rectangle goes.

I decided to go with a heart shaped card for the challenge. I used my Heart scalloped Nestabilities to create a little thank you card. The oven mitts from the Bun in the Oven set were stamped on the plaid paper and then cut out and mounted on the polka dot circle.

Hope you'll join us in the fun! If you create a card for this challenge, please post it (or a link to it) in the CSS group on Paper Craft Planet.

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Clear & Simple Stamps Bun in the Oven
  • Ink - Colorbox Chalk Dark Peony
  • Paper - White, SU Cool Caribbean, Chatterbox designer paper
  • Misc - Pop dots, Nestabilities, Thank you sticker

Wii Tournament Trophy

Having a Wii tournament? Then you really need a trophy for the winner! And what’s better than a trophy filled with chocolates. To create the trophy I cut two squares of red cardstock (4 ½ inch squares) and scored each side one inch from the edge. Then I cut one score mark on each corner to create the little red bases for my transparency sheet. The transparency sheet was 8 x 11 and I folded the 11 inch side every 2 ½ inches leaving a 1 inch flap to create a tube. The transparency tube was attached to the bottom base with red line tape. Then I filled the trophy with Hershey Kisses and attached the Wii tournament champion labels to opposite sides. These were created by stamping the words with Palette Hybrid black ink and the little home key in Cool Caribbean then cutting them out with the Labels 1 set of Nestabilities. Before attaching the top base to the candy tube, I cut a small slit in the top and fed a strip of red cardstock through the top for attaching my Mii characters. The characters were stamped with Palette Hybrid Black and colored with Copics. I used Nestabilities to create the layers and attached the guy on one side and the woman on the other. That way you can present it using whichever side is appropriate for the winner. Finally I used some silver cord to attach a couple of Cool Caribbean ovals that were stamped with the word WINNER. I hope you’re inspired to create a candy trophy for your next Wii party.

Supplies:
· Stamps – Clear and Simple Stamps Game On
· Ink – Palette Hybrid Black, Cool Caribbean
· Paper – SU Riding Hood Red, Cool Caribbean, White
· Misc – Transparency, Copics, Nestabilities, SU Small Oval Punch, Silver cord, Candy

Whipper Snapper and Barbie

I have a couple of Whipper Snapper cards to share today but first I'd like to share some baking I did this past weekend. It was my Niece's 19th birthday last Saturday and she was hoping for a Barbie cake so I offered to make one. Here's my first attempt at a Barbie cake. It was really quite simple and a lot of fun to make. Now my daughter has requested one for her next birthday.

Ok on with the cards. I used Anna Wight's newest set Wildflower Silhouette from Whipper Snapper for my Niece's birthday card and then I liked the way it turned out so much that I made a second card. Both card use the same focal panel and a variety of papers from the BasicGrey Bittersweet line.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful day!

Whipper Wednesday

For today's post I'd like to share another card using Anna Wight's newest Whipper Snapper set Wildflower Silhouette. This is such a fun set to work with and I thought it would work well with the yellow and grey color scheme I've been seeing everywhere lately.

I used the Label 1 Nestabilities set to create a frame around the floral image that I stamped with SU Basic Grey ink on white cardstock. The frame was mounted with pop dots to give the card some dimension. I also stamped one of the butterflies from the set twice in yellow and cut out the entire first one and just the top wings on the second and attached them together for more dimension. Some yellow stickles were added to the flower centers and to the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a wonderful Wednesday!

Supplies:
  • Stamps - Whipper Snapper Wildflower Silhouette
  • Ink - SU Basic Grey, Barely Banana
  • Paper - SU Black, White, Banana; BasicGrey designer paper
  • Misc - Pop dots, Nestabilities, Scallop edge punch, Silver cord, Stickles
