I don't have a card to share with you today but I do have some crafty goodness. My niece asked me about the possibility of making some muslin flowers to tie around mason jars for wedding table decorations so I told her I would make her some samples. I ran 5 pieces of muslin through my cuttlebug with a large scalloped circle spellbinders die and then 1 piece of burlap with a smaller scalloped circle die to create my first attempt at a flower. It was so easy to put together which would be great for mass producing and I really like the results. I'm planning to work on some more samples for her this weekend in case she isn't as excited about this one as I am. :)
If you'd like to make some of these, all you need is 5 pieces of muslin and 1 burlap piece. Take one muslin circle, fold it in half and then in half again by bringing the edges to the center to form a point. You can see a sample of one circle folded in the bottom left of this photo. Once you have done that to four of the muslin circles, sew them to the fifth piece for your base. Next, place the burlap piece in the center and stitch it down with a button. Couldn't be easier.
I used a glue dot to adhere one of the flowers to my button jar as a sample. I can envision these flowers on all kinds of projects. Wouldn't they be cute on headbands and cards and scrapbook pages and pillows? I'm thinking a banner would be really fun too. Maybe I'll work on one for the bridal shower.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you've had a wonderful week and are able to do something fun and crafty this weekend. Happy
