Wanna Snuggle?

Doesn't this gator look like he's just waiting to give someone a big hug?! I stamped him and the clouds on watercolor paper and colored them with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an aqua brush. The images were then cut out and mounted to the card with pop dots for added dimension. I used a green Twinklette marker on the spots on the gator's back for some sparkle.

All of the images are from Whipper Snapper Designs. They are from three different Anna Wight cling mount sets - the greeting is from the Winter Schminter set; the cloud is from the Fish Friends set; and the gator is from the Little Critters set. Love how Anna's sets work so well together.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful week!

  • Ink - Archival Ink Jet Black, Distress Ink Vintage Photo

Summer Fun and Sweet Tooth

I saw this cute pack of papers fromWe R Memory Keepers on clearance the other day at Michael's and after some debate decided that it needed to come home with me. The clearance price was $9 but then it rang up even cheaper so I'm glad it made it's way into my basket.

I went home and put together the bases of the three cards. They all have the same white base, orange panel, and striped panel. Then for the focal images I decided to mix them up so they would all have a little different look.

For the candy card I added an orange square panel on the diagonal behind the circular image. For the flip flops, I turned the card on it's side and added three circles with flip flops.

Lastly I went with just a plain circluar image. For a little extra something I cut out the purple popsicle and mounted it with pop dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all having a wonderful day.

  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Summer and Sweet Tooth

I colored the stamp with my Watercolor Wonder Crayons, spritzed it with water and stamped it on watercolor paper. After distressing the edges of the image panel I sewed it to the designer paper mat. Just a nice simple card to showcase the beautiful flower.

Texture Challenge

I have another challenge card to share today. On Wednesday I stopped at Creative Belli Blog and Belli Challenge #69 is a create a card with texture. I pulled out my cuttlebug and a variety of embossing folders and got to work.

The base is SU soft sky with a mat of purely pomegranate and K & Company Wild Raspberry dp. Next I used the scallop label punch from SU to punch four pieces and then ran each one through my cuttlebug with a different embossing folder. I mounted the scalloped labels with pop dots for some dimension and then added a butterfly to each one. The butterflies were stamped with SU purely pomegranate, soft sky, marigold morning and positively pink and then cut out. The butterfly is from the set along with the sentiment. Before adding the sentiment I tied a bow around the card. The sentiment was stamped with purely pomegranate ink and punched out with a circle punch. I used my crop-o-dile to add an eyelet for threading the ribbon through to attach it to the bow on the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Supplies:

  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Spring Sentiments
  • Ink - Stampin Up Soft Sky, Marigold Morning, Purely Pomegranate, Positively Pink

That Tickles Me Challenge

The challenge today on 365cards.blogspot.com was to create a humorous card. I was having so much fun that I created two cards.

For my first card I used the Sweet tooth set from Clear and Simple Stamps and stamped the peppermint several times on white cardstock masking off the bottom part of the wrapper to make it look like a lollipop. I colored the images with SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons, cut them out and attached toothpicks to them. Before mounting them to the card with pop dots I coated them with a layer of Glossy Accents and dipped them into Diamond Dust.

For the second card I used one of the new Bernard images from DigiStamp Boutique. When I saw this image I knew I had to make a card using the phrase "Do I hear cake?" because I remember a birthday card I received when I was young that had a drawing of Snoopy laying on his dog house with one ear up and those words and I thought this image would be a nice substitute.

I hope my cards put a smile on your face. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful week.

Supplies for the top card:
  • Stamps - Clear and Simple Stamps Sweet Tooth
  • Ink - Archival Jet Black
  • Paper - Stampin Up Marigold Morning, White, K & Company Wild Raspberry
  • Misc -SU Slit punch (to make the scalloped border), Glossy Accents, Diamond Dust, Toothpicks, SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aqua brush, Pop dots
Supplies for the bottom card:
  • Image - DigiStamp Boutique Bernard - whats that noise?
  • Paper - Stampin Up Kraft, Black, White, Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts Pink Forest
  • Misc -Dymo label maker, Tracing wheel, Copics, Nestabilities Labels 1, Gems, Chalk (background of owl piece)

Back from the Cabin

There is nothing like spending a few relaxing days at the cabin! Especially when the weather is sunny and warm. Sitting by the fire ring (even when there's no fire) and gazing down the lake is a favorite past time.
Laying in one of the hammocks and reading is also a good way
to spend the day.The dogs spend most of their time in the water.

Thanks for letting me share a glimpse of how we spent the week surrounding the 4th of July. I will have a crafty blog entry to share tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping.

July's Take the Challenge Tuesday

Today is the first Tuesday of the month so that means it's time for another Clear and Simple Stamps Take the Challenge Tuesday on PaperCraftPlanet. This month's challenge is "Sizzle & Pop." Try making a card with bright bold colors like yellow, orange or red and add something to your card that pops.

For my challenge cards I used the older set Diva Style Closet from Clear and Simple Stamps. On the top card I stamped the shirt in Stampin Up Pink Passion, Only Orange and YoYo Yellow and white cardstock, cut them out and mounted them with pop dots. Then added some nice bright layers and even a little stitching with my Sew Mini.
  • Stamps: Clear and Simple Stamps Diva Style Closet
  • Paper: White, Pink Passion, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow
  • Ink: Pink Passion, Only Orange, YoYo Yellow
  • Misc: Sewing machine, Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder, Pop dots

Happy Independence Day!

I just wanted to wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July and share another card using the Bravery Gent set from Clear and Simple Stamps. For this card I stamped the kraft card base with the sentiment using Antique linen distress ink to create the background. I sponged the edges of the card with Vintage photo distress ink. The blue layer is Stampin Up Buckaroo blue with stars stamped in matching ink. The edges of this piece were also sponged with Vintage photo distress ink. The ribbon is from May Arts and the red polka dot/solid is a two sided paper from Bo Bunny. The star in the center of the card has a brad and is mounted with a pop dot.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy 4th of July!
