Friends with Flair

Today I'd like to share a card using the Moments in Blooom set from Unity for the Unity Friends with Flair. Every Friday, Unity asks you to link up your Unity creations and I'm happy to be able to participate this week.

I stamped the ledger stamp with Distress Ink for the background and then I colored the flower stamp with Stampin Up markers to stamp. I also added a little white gel pen accents to the flowers after I stamped them. The designer paper strip is from My Mind's Eye, button from PTI and twine from May Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you're having a fabulous Friday. Happy Stamping!

Hey Stud

Unity Stamp Co is running a Happy Hour sale all weekend so I thought I would share a card today using one of the stamps that is on sale. Details for the sale can be found on their site.

I love this stamp from Unity and it's on SALE right now for $3 (reg $6.99). Here's the link - Hey Stud {Itty Bitty}  if you're interested.

I paired the stamped image with paper from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic - Nutmeg - Family - Zig zag. I stamped the image on vintage cream cardstock from PTI using Stampin Up Soft Suede ink. I also added a mat of Soft Suede cardstock to the card base. The button is from October Afternoon and the twine is from May Arts. Just a simple masculine card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fantastic Friday. Happy Stamping!

Birthday Buttons

How about another birthday card today? This one has a little bit of everything. Papers are from the My Mind's Eye - Stella and Ruby - Gertie collection. The button card is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co and the birthday sentiment is from Paper Smooches. The twine is from May Arts and the lace trim is from Hero Arts. The heart dies are from Lil' Inker Designs and the button dies are from My Favorite Things. I love how they all come together on this card.
Here's a close up of the button card with the die cuts.

I'm linking this card to the Unity Friends with Flair challenge. You can find that post here.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fabulous Friday. Happy Stamping!

Friends with Flair: Spotted Owl Soup

Today I have another Unity card to share for Friends with Flair on the Unity blog. This card uses the Spotted Owl Soup set. I stamped the kraft card base with the cake stamp using versamark ink. Then I cut a large scallop border and added it to an October Afternoon Journaling card from the Detours line. The cake image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on PTI Rustic Cream cardstock and colored with Copics. I stamped the cake portion a second time and popped the center of the cake pieces and glued down the ends to give it some nice dimension. Unfortunately I didn't get a good photo to share of the effect. For the finishing details I added some glitter to the cake, twine and a star button. To make the star button I cut a couple of stars using my Sizzix Stars #2 die, layered them together for extra strength then used my crop-o-dile to create the holes.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned. We're off to the cabin despite the forecast for rain all weekend. Happy Stamping!

Quiet Essence Hello

Today I have another card using the Quiet Essence set from Unity Stamp Co. I submitted this card to Paper Crafts Stamping Royalty contest last month but it didn't make the cut. The cards that are submitted to the contest are donated to various groups so hopefully someone will enjoy my card. I stamped the flowers and bee on rustic white cardstock, colored them with copics and fussy cut them to mount them on the card with foam dimensionals. The centers of the blue flowers have gems, the center of the orange flower has pearls and the bee's wings are glittered. The HELLO was embossed in white on vellum cardstock and the scalloped oval was also die cut out of vellum.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday

Today I have another card to share with you using the Quiet Essence set from Unity. I also used the music background stamp from Unity and paired them with a sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set.

I am entering this card in the Craft-A-Lot May 2012 Challenge. The challenge requires using Unity stamps and bling. I hope pearls count as bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a marvelous Monday. Happy Stamping!

Quiet Essence

Today I have two cards to share with you that use the Quiet Essence set from Unity Stamp Company. The first card is a clean and simple style using a pink card base from AMuse Studio cardstock and some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. The flower was stamped on white cardstock with Versamark, heat embossed with white embossing powder and colored with Copics. The sentiment is from an older retired set from Stampin' Up.

The second card has the same flower and My Mind's Eye patterned papers but I used kraft for the card base and added some burlap, machine stitching, DMC floss and a button. Also, the sentiment is from a limited edition set by Clear and Simple Stamps and was stamped on a flag and tucked under the button.

I'm really happy with how both versions turned out. It's fun to try different styles using similar products.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. Happy Stamping!

Unity February Challenge

The challenge over at Unity this month is to make a card using HEARTS but no red or pink hearts so I pulled out some DCWV textured cardstock and an assortment of heart stamps from Unity to put together this card for the challenge. The patterned paper is from Simple Stories and mounted on a white mat and kraft card base. I stamped the hearts with Choc Chip ink and cut them out then mounted them on a paper doily. Some of the hearts are mounted with foam dimensionals for some visual interest. The finishing touches are a little white gel pen detail on the main heart and a ribbon bow with a button center.

The main focal heart "you deserve happy" is from the Stamp of the Week program (week #6), the "hugs" stamp is from the Forever Friends set and the other one is from a grab bag that I got from Unity.

Thanks so much for stopping. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Happy

Just a quick post to share this card I put together after being inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card. I stamped some of the hearts from Papertrey Ink's Heart Prints set in white pigment ink on a kraft layer. Then I stamped the Happy Happy Happy stamp from Unity with Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder on a strip of pink from Basic Grey's Kissing Booth collection. Instead of making my own flower like in Jennifer's video, I just added a Recollections flower that I had in my stash. I mounted the piece to a white card base and rounded to corners on the cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Stamp of the Week #4

Today's card uses the fun bicycle stamp from Unity's Stamp of the Week #4. I paired it with some of the papers from the Echo Parks Times and Seasons collection. I used the large scallop die from A Muse Studio to create my border and also added a button for fun.

I think this stamp will see a lot of ink at my house. I'm really enjoying the Stamp of the Week program and getting a little package each week. Sometimes when you place an order and get several sets at one time it feels kind of overwhelming but when you just get one at a time you can just focus on that one stamp. It seems to be working well for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope your week is wrapping up nicely. Happy Stamping!

Trust with your Heart

Are you familiar with Unity's Stamp of the Week offering? This card uses the stamp from Week 3. I paired it with a variety of papers from Crate Paper's Random collection and a heart die from Clear and Simple Stamps.

For my second card, I used papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two "Blush" collection, some vintage lace, bakers twine and Petite type alphabet stickers from Authentique. Apparently I was channeling Yoda when I made the second card and got the idea to change up the message.

That's it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you're having a great week. Happy Stamping!

Direction of your Heart

Today's card uses the Direction of your Heart stamp from Unity. I stamped the image and sentiment on PTI Rustic Cream cardstock and then added a little color with Copics. The edges of both pieces were sponged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink before being adhered to the card. I used my Spellbinder heart and circle dies and Clear and Simple Stamps heart dies with an assortment of felt colors to create my embellishments. I added some machine stitching on a couple of the hearts and some hand sewing (including french knots) to my circle stacks for some extra detail. The background paper is from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two "Breeze" collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. Happy Stamping!

Valentine Tag

Today's project uses the Dec 2011 Filled with love {Kit of the Month} from Unity Stamp Co. I have a vintage clipboard that hangs in my kitchen and I needed something with a valentine look to update it so I pulled out a shipping tag, a paper doily, some My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 "Blush" papers, ribbon, twine, an EK Success heart punch and the Unity Dec KOM.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're all have a marvelous Monday. Happy Stamping!

Follow Your Heart

Today I have a card to share using the Week 1 Stamp of the week from Unity called Follow Your Heart. I love the new program they are offering for a new stamp each week for just $5.79 including shipping. You can find the details on their Stamp of the Week blog. I stamped the image with Dark Brown ColorBox Chalk ink, colored the words with Copics and paper pieced the heart. The card base was covered with a variety of papers from My Mind's Eye Mabel from the Stella & Rose collection. I also added some twine from The Twinery for a little fun. This card is going to a co-worker who is moving. Her family is following a job opportunity which will take them across the state so I thought this was a fitting sentiment for the occasion.

I'm entering this in the Unity "New Beginnings" Challenge. And, I just noticed that I am the winner from last month's "Gift Wrapping" challenge with my Berry Christmas tag that I made. Yeah for winning new stamps!

I would also like to enter this in the Paper Piecing with a Twist challenge over at Our Creative Corner. The challenge requires a paper pieced element and no ribbon. The heart on my card is paper pieced and hopefully bakers twine doesn't count as ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. Happy Stamping!

Gratitude = Joy

How about another Valentine's day card? This card uses the same cute valentine border from K&Company as the card from last week but I paired it with papers from the Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection. I also added a stamped image from Unity's Gratitude = Joy set. I stamped the image on cream cardstock with SU Cranberry Crisp then colored it with Copic R85, added some Spica glitter pen for some sparkle and then rubbed a little walnut stain distress ink over the piece to make it match the floral strips of Kissing Booth papers. The image was fussy cut and tucked under the edge of the XO border piece. For the finishing touch I added some blossom twine from The Twinery.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a relaxing day. Happy Stamping!

Sweetest Day

As I mentioned yesterday, Unity is having a challenge on Facebook right now to create a card using their Itty Bitty stamps so today I would like to share another card I made for the challenge. I stamped the Sweetest Day Itty Bitty and colored it with Copics. Then added a strip of October Afternoon paper to a PTI Rustic Cream card base, stamped the sentiment and mounted the strawberry with foam dimensionals. A very simple card but I really like the results.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Life

Unity is having a challenge on Facebook right now to create a card using their Itty Bitty stamps so I put together this card (along with others that I will share over the next couple of days). I used the Life Bingo Itty Bitty stamp along with a sentiment from the Moments in Bloom set, also from Unity.

The papers are from a Recollections 12x12 collection that I picked up at Michaels and the star is a die from Sizzix. The sentiment circle was die cut with a circle Nestabilities and I left the piece in the die while I sponged Ranger Distress inks on to get it to match the designer paper piece with the bingo stamp. I used a combination of Mustard Seed, Old Paper, and Vintage Photo inks. The sentiment and bingo stamp were stamped with ColorBox Chalk Chestnut Roan.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Happy Stamping!

Sketch Challenge: Happy Butterflies

Today's card was created for the Unity KOM Sketch Challenge.

I used stamps from the April 2010 Kit of the Month for my card. The papers are from the Picket Fence line by Lily Bee Design. I also used Spellbinders Heart and Scalloped Heart Nestabilities and the small scalloped edge die from A Muse Studio.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!
