Happy Halloween!

Last night I pulled out some Halloween papers and quickly made up a batch of small cards (4 1/4 x 2 3/4) to pair with some treat bags that I will give my girlfriends kids.



I love the Halloween papers from My Mind's Eye. They were perfect for putting together cards quickly. Just used SU black for the card base and matted them with a variety of the Halloween papers then added the tags. The spider tags use an old SU hostess set and the Happy Halloween tags use a really old (foam mounted) SU set. The ribbons are from Michael's and are either tied around the card or stapled to the tags.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. No gifts to buy, plenty of candy, lots of fun decorations, wearing costumes. So fun! My husband and I usually host a Halloween costume party but the timing was bad for us this year so I'm hoping to have just a costume party after the holidays. Hhmm . . . maybe a Valentine's costume party! Part of the fun of the party is no one reveals their costumes before the party so it's always fun to see who shows up at the door.

Got Snow?

We did yesterday (0.2 inches officially). Thankfully it melted as it hit the ground. In honor of our first snowfall of the year here's a card using the GinaK set "Got Snow."

The card base is red from Paper Source, the patterned paper is from Basic Grey, the blue mat is SU Buckaroo Blue, the image is stamped with Palette Hybrid Black on SU Very Vanilla and colored with Copics. I also added some Stickles as snow on the image. The edges are sponged with some Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, I believe). The green on the tag is a scrap from my table. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Memory Box.

Bucket of Tags

My LSS had the long scalloped nesties and the cuttlebug snowflake in stock the other day so I had to bring them both home with me. For the tag bases I used Kraft and Cool Caribbean cardstock with the long scalloped nestie then for the snowflakes I ran recycled cardboard through my cuttlebug with the new snowflake cuttlebug die, painted them with a Ranger snowcap (white) paint dabber and sprinkled them with glitter. On the pink and brown tag I also ran it through my cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder and rubbed some white pigment ink on the embossed snowflakes. The stamps are from a variety of Studio G $1 sets.

Basic Grey and Papertrey

Before buying more holiday papers I thought I would try to use up my Basic Grey Dasher and Blitzen papers. I paired them with the Papertrey Ink Believe set.

More Inkadinkado Halloween

I just have a minute to quickly post a couple more Inkadinkado Halloween cards. For the top card I stamped the cat on the purple paper then paper pieced his ghost costume! The prima flower was colored with a Copic marker to match the striped paper.

For this card I used the distress ink technique with the craft sheet and shipping tag. The tutorial is here. The birds were stamped in black and glitter was added to the moon but it didn't photograph well. The bottom portion of the black mat was run through my cuttlebug with the swiss dot folder for a little texture.

Happy Halloween!

Just a couple of simple cards today using the Inkadinkado Ghouls and Goblins clear set. The card bases are Kraft and the designer papers are from My Mind's Eye. Both images are stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir on Kraft. For the monster puppy I colored him with Prisamolor Pencils and then sponged the edges with distress inks. For the Mummy Kitty I colored the bath tissue with a white prismacolor pencil.

Snappy Birthday Wishes

I decided to try making a gatefold card that folded with a landscape layout instead of a portrait layout. The crab was stamped with Palette Hybrid Noir ink on white then colored with Copics. The claw on the left, the package and the party hat were stamped, colored, cut out and then mounted with pop dots. For the greeting I used the snappy portion of the greeting from the set and then added the birthday wishes sentiment from the Papertrey Ink faux ribbon set. The striped paper is from Making Memories and the card base is Kraft. The green and orange mats are coordinations cardstock.
